HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Accounting & Finance was established in the year 2013 – 2014 in response with the growing demand in Commerce as a field of education. The total strength of students in B.com Accounting and Finance is around 700. To cater to the increasing demand on B. Com Accounting and Finance course second additional section was started in the year 2015 -16 and with the great urge for the course from the students a third additional section was started in the year 2019 -20.

With the support of the Management and the University, the department has witnessed a multi- directional impressive growth in diversified areas that provide opportunities to the students to explore and deepen their academic interest and that paved way to upgrade the UG Department into a PG department in 2022-23 with the introduction of an additional Course M. Com Accounting and Finance in Commerce. Since the approval was received in the month of October 2022, the department is in the plan to get admission for the first year PG students in the academic year 2023-24. The Department currently has 3 sections having 70 students each with the total strength of 630 students approximately.
