About the Department

The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 2001. Post graduate programme – M.Sc (Computer Science ) was introduced in the year 2015. The department offers 4 UG sections and 1 PG section. Department is well equipped with 7 laboratories and 410 computers of required software with powerful servers. The department has a distinct digital and microprocessor lab to give students a setting in which they can develop their technological skills and become industrial professionals, entrepreneurs, and researchers. The primary objective of the department is to create a platform for developing the technical skills in computer technology for various applications. The department currently has 19 efficient and dynamic faculty members.In addition to traditional classroom instruction, faculty members lead conferences, group discussions, International seminars, and other seminars to prepare students for the challenges of today's digital society. The staff members also take the initiative to identify and support students unique talents .The department faculty members actively engage in research and frequently publish papers in national and international publications in maintaining their own upgradation.

 

Following are the years with increase in number of Sections:

In 2005, Section II was introduced.

In 2007, Section III was introduced.

In 2017, Section IV was introduced.

In 2023, BSc (Artificial Intelligence) programme is scheduled to launch

COMPUTER CENTRE

In order to prepare our students to be fully equipped to face the rapidly growing and most competitive of fields, we have seven fully air-conditioned computer laboratories with 420 computers updated with the latest software in addition to sufficient printers and copiers. Two labs are equipped with Internet, connected to three high end servers. Overhead projectors are installed in all the labs to facilitate lectures and presentations.

A strong and efficient power backup system ensures uninterrupted functioning of the labs. System ensures uninterrupted functioning of the labs.

 

COMMUNICATION SCIENCE LAB

 

Electronics and Communication are like the Siamese twins of emerging technology, and have permeated every crevice in our lives.

Students of the Electronics and Communication department have a well equipped lab with 8051 Micro-Controllers, 8085 Microprocessor kits and Digital storage Oscilloscopes.

They are amply designed to give students a practical experience in the areas of Basic Electronic Circuits, Basic Electronic, Digital Electronics, 8085 programs and various other programs catering to the requirements of the syllabus.

The Department of Computer Science and the Placement cell bring in a lot of effort to make sure that eligible students are given the proper chances in the IT Industry to exhibit their strengths. The placement coordinator for the department is another member of the faculty who take responsibilities in serving as a point of contact between the department students and the Placement cell, mentoring the students, and assisting them in making informed career decisions.
