ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

B. Sc – Software Applications is a full time undergraduate degree course affiliated to University of Madras as per the National Education Policy 2022.

To dive into the world of Software Development, IT Analysis, Web Development, Software Publisher, Artificial Intelligence, etc.

To bridge the gap between IT industries and Institutes by incorporating the latest developments into the curriculum.

An exclusive and well-equipped lab for the department with a network of latest Client based computers and software installed.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department was started in the year 2008 and currently having 1 sections with 50 students per section.

The Second section were added in the academic year 2017-2018. It has 116 students and 11 Staff members.

The course is designed to bridge the gap between IT industries and Institutes by incorporating the latest developments into the curriculum.

Well Qualified Staff (4 Ph.D. holders, 6 SET & 3 NET qualified) and Subject Experts to provide Technical Knowledge to the students.

Having 8 Computer Labs for practical based learning with UPS facility and Wi-fi connectivity.

SCOPE

The course has been designed keeping in mind the desirable characteristics of a competent Computer Professional.

It provides a sound academic base through which an advanced career in computer applications can be developed.

The graduates can start their careers as junior programmers and get promoted to the senior programmers, project managers etc. in the IT field.

Fundamentals of Programming Methodology, Computer Graphics, Internet, Operating Systems, Databases, NET Applications and Web Applications are provided.

The department’s infrastructure is well furnished. Our computer centre has 8 well equipped Laboratories with all the latest hardware and software, we also have a Microprocessor and a Digital Lab.

technical knowledge. It is done by the name of NPTEL-SWAYAM Local Chapter “ Agurchand Manmull Jain College” (id : 5186) in association with IIT Madras.

It is mainly for Faculty Development and Student Mentoring. The B.Sc (SA) Students enroll the Mooc courses actively.
