The INVESTITURE of the elected representatives of the STUDENTS’ DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL was held on, Monday 24.09.2018 between 10.00 a.m and 1.00 p.m at Mahaveer Gyan Bhavan Auditorium.

Dr. S. SEKAR, Hon. Principal, the Stenographers, Guild and a distinguished Alumnus of the college consented to be the Chief Guest and Delivered the Inaugural Address. The Associate Secretary of the College graced the occasion which had an august gathering of Heads of all the Departments, teaching and non-teaching staff and students. The function was highlighted by the presence of frontliners of the Lions Club International.

The Teacher Vice presidents of the SDC organized the programme in tandem with all the teachers and students of the college. The function started with the invocation. Selected students of the college were the masters of the ceremony and executed the agenda of welcoming the gathering. Dr. N. Venkataramanan, Principal and the President of the Students’ Development Council, introduced the chief Guest. Our Associate Secretary along with the Principal felicitated the chief guest and also his father who was a renowned mimicry artist of yesteryears. The Chief Guest shared his pride as the distinguished alumnus of the college by attributing every bit of his success to the learning at the portals of his alma mater.

The Chief Guest extended his warm invite to the students to approach him for any counseling and guidance related to their careers. The audience went into raptures to watch the chief Guest’s father, the octogenarian exhibit his coned mimicry skills on the stage.The students were thrilled by the superfluous comic capsule presented by the duo of the chief guest and his father.

The SDC vice president Prof. Hajira Sultana introduced the elected office bearers, succeeded by the solemn part of the programme namely installation and investiture. The Principal Dr. N. Venkataramanan administered the pledge to the installed office bearers. As a part of the cultural events, students performed classical dance, after pronouncing the motto of the SDC for the coming academic year.

The programme lined up the year were inaugurated on the stage and the function ended with a vote of thanks by SDC chairman followed by the National Anthem.
