The Investiture ceremony of A. M. Jain College shift-II for the academic year 2017-18 was held with great pomp and dignity in a special ceremony at Gyan Bhavan on 25th July 2017. The event was presided over by Dr. G.K.Francis, Dean Shift-II. The Chief Guest for the Investiture ceremony was Dr. Radhakrishnan IPS Director General of Police, Civil Supplies CID, Tamil Nadu. The function was attended by Associate Secretary Shri. Shanthimull Nahar, and Principal DR. R. Rajendiren. The investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the college consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. They were conferred with badges and sashes by Honorable Chief Guest Dr. Radhakrishnan. The Students Welfare Council took the pledge to hold the college motto of loyalty. The chief guest congratulated them and admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties.

VISION

The Student Welfare Council of Agurchand Manmull Jain College aims to provide holistic development for students. It is a representative body that acts as the voice of students and has student representatives from each year. It enables students to grow and evolve as leaders capable of improving the well-being, strengthening passions that engage in healthy social interactions and maintain a good rapport with others from various backgrounds.

 

MISSION

To lead and formulate student welfare programs by providing valuable support. To emphasize on student engagement and overall acquisition of knowledge during their course of study. To empower students and impart values on leadership skills, time management and decision making, so that they grow to be successful individuals on the fruitful completion of their degrees.

 

 

SWC – OBJECTIVES

The functioning of SWC comprise of student related activities, in pursuit of their knowledge and leadership skills. SWC acts as a responsible medium for creating a platform for inspiring the students’ life with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

The Student’s Welfare Council provides an opportunity to develop leadership skills because when it comes to the effective functioning and continuous success of the college, the most valuable role is undoubtedly played by the students.

The focus of SWC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into responsible individuals.

It enables the students to take responsibility for activities on the campus and demonstrate their managerial capacity. Such opportunities enable them to acquire communication, planning and organizational skills that will benefit, throughout their lives.

This helps them to pursue with a sense of responsibility and commitment towards their job.

The student representative leaders are chosen through a democratic election, and are voted to victory. They are provided with an opportunity to showcase their leadership skills, thereby proving to be good role models for the other students in the campus.

The whole team of the student leaders are always guided by the Staff of SWC which comprises of the Senior Coordinator (SWC), President and Vice Presidents.

The leaders are honoured with badges during investiture ceremony and are given key responsibilities. SWC always strives to bring out the best in the students, and shape them into best individuals, before they leave the campus as Graduates.

 

REPORT ON POOJA CELEBRATIONS

OCTOBER 13th, 2021

 

The Management, Staff and Students of AgurchandManmull Jain institutions celebrated Ayudha Pooja in its premises on October 13th 2021. The Pooja celebration was conducted in the Main Block near the Golu arranged for Navrathri.

The Pooja was attendedby the Secretary-in-charge Shri.Shantimull Nahar, Management Committee member Shri.Pannalal Chordia, Principal Dr.N.Venkatramanan, Directors Dr.G.K.Francis and Dr.N.Srinivasan, ITC Principal, Mr.C.Sabariraj, School Principal Ms.G.Santhalakshmi, Vice principals, Advisors, Dr.M.Ananthanarayanan, Dr.B.Mahaveer and Ms.Malini Jain, Office Superintendent Mr.Ravichandran, Chief Manager Mrs.Sangeetha Rajappa, School Vice Principals, Senior Coordinators, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff.

After a formal Poojathat was conducted at the Main block, all the staff assembled at Bhagwan Mahaveer Gyan Bhawan for receiving the gifts.Mr.Fenn Moses, Vice President, Students’ Welfare Council welcomed the gathering and the program was hosted by Dr.S.Sreevidhya, Vice President Students’ Welfare Council.The Management committee membersgifted each and every staff with a Power bank and an OTG cable.

The gift was received with utmost gratefulness and everyone expressed their thanks to the Management, for very thoughtfully gifting them with such a useful product. Vice Principal & Advisor Dr.B.Mahaveer expressed gratitude to the Management on behalf of all the staff of AgurchandManmull Jain Institutions. The program was followed by refreshment that was served at the New Block. The program was organized and conducted successfully.

REPORT ON JOY OF GIVING

DECEMBER 21st, 2021

 

The Management and Staff of AgurchandManmull Jain college- Shift I and Shift II along with SDC(Students’ Development Council) and SWC(Students’ Welfare Council), conducted the Joy of Giving celebrations in a grand manner on December 21, 2021. 23 kids from RAMALINGA ADIGALAR GURUKULAM, arrived along with their caretakers in a van arranged for them.

They reached the college at 2.30 p.m. and they were welcomed by the Principal Dr.N.Venkatramanan, Adviors Dr.M.Ananthanarayanan and Dr.B.Mahaveer. The kids were offered Welcome drink and some snacks after which they were allowed to play games, which were organized for their enjoyment. The P.T. staff of our college organized games for the kids as well the house keeping staff of our college and school.

Following the games, they were taken to the Indoor Stadium. All the Non-teaching staff of our college and School had gathered for the program. The celebration was conducted in memory of our beloved Secretary, Late Shri. Sardarmull ji Chordia. The program was graced by the Secretary Shri.Shantimull Nahar, Management Committee Member, Shri. Pannalal Chordia, Principal Dr.N.Venkatramanan,Director Dr.N.Srinivasan, Advisors Dr. M.Ananthanarayanan, Dr.B.Mahaveer, Ms.Malini Jain, SWC Senior Coordinator Dr. E.Kothandaraman, SWC Coordinator Dr. V.R.Elangovan and other Senior Coordinators.

    Dr.V.R.Elangovan, Vice President of SWC welcomed the gathering and the program was hosted by Mr.FennMoses and Dr.S.Sreevidhya and the backend works were handled by the other SWC team members. Two dance performances were arranged from both Shift I & Shift II to entertain the audience. This was followed by a Yogasana by Ms.Seerma student of II. BCom CS Shift II.

The Management Committee members gave gifts to the members of the Gurukulam as a token of care and help. The members of the Gurukulam received gifts – Refrigerator, Wet Grinder, Bureau and Provisions for one month.

    This was followed by the gifting ceremony for the kids who belonged to various age groups. The Management bought gifts according to the age groups of the kids and chose gifts that would be useful and ones that will be liked by them. The kids were also given general stationery comprising of notebooks, pen, pencil, crayons, eraser, ruler and a school bag. The kids were very happy and excited on receiving the gifts. Apart from these gifts, the Management also arranged for new footwear for all those who arrived from RAMALINGA ADIGALAR GURUKULAM.

    All the Housekeeping, Security and Gardening staff of our College and School were gifted with essential provisions for one month along with a saree for women staff and a Dhoti & towel for Male staff. On receiving the gifts, all the staff thanked the Management immensely, for continuing the tradition of giving. This celebration is continued year after year in memory of our beloved Secretary, Late Shri. Sardarmull ji Chordiawith the magnanimity and love shown year after year. Vote of thanks was rendered by Vice Principal and Advisor Dr.B.Mahaveer.

     The Management Committee members, Staff and all the kids were provided with a sumptuous dinner.The kids enjoyed dancing to livelymusic after dinner. The members and the kids spent a memorable time at our college premises leaving happy prints in everyone’s hearts. They were sent back to the Gurukulam along with the gifts in the vehicle arranged for them.

REPORT ON PONGAL CELEBRATION- JANUARY 2022

 

Agurchand Manmull Jain College, Shift-II celebrated Pongal on 12.01.2022 in the college premises. The celebration of Pongal began with making arrangements for Pongal Worship and cooking Pongal in a traditional manner. Staff of SWC and the staff from the Department of Tamil coordinated in making necessary arrangements for Pongal. A big colorful rangoli was decorated and the lamp was arranged for the ritual Pooja. The traditional way of cooking Pongal in an earthen pot was the speciality of the celebration.

The  Pongal Celebration in the college began with the lighting of the Kuthuvilaku by the Principal Dr.N.Venkataramanan, Advisor Dr.M.Ananthanarayanan, Dr.E.Kothandaraman, Dr.V.R.Elangovan and  Dr.S.Sreevidhya. The program was virtually organized and telecasted on YouTube live strictly following covid protocols and at the same time enabling students and faculty to watch. Cultural events were arranged highlighting the tradition and culture of Tamil Nādu. A folk dance by students was organized, followed by a Pattimandram on the topic “Pandigaigalai Sirappaga Kondaduvadhu Valamaana Gramangalila? Vasadhiyana Nagarangalila?”. The speakers were Prof.M.Padmanaban, Ms.M.D.Lokeshwari, Mr.C.Harish, Dr.P.Manonmani, Mr.K.Muthushankar and Ms.I.Gayathri Sunitha. This event was judged by Dr. M.Thamarai Selvi, Coordinator Department of Tamil.

A Kaviyarangam was also organized on the topic “Pongalo Pongal” judged by Dr. K.Anbu Asst.Prof, Department of Tamil and the participants were Prof. N.Thirumal, Mr.N.Lokesh, Ms.M Ashwitha, Dr.G.Vijayakumari, Mr.M.Yogesh Kumar and Ms.A.Priyanka.

After the Sweet Pongal was prepared, it was offered to the Sun God seeking the blessings of the Almighty for the welfare of everyone by performing a Pooja. It was then distributed to everyone.

SWC ELECTION REPORT HELD

ON MARCH 2022

The Students’ Welfare Council (SWC) of Agurchand Manmull Jain College Shift-II, conducted Office Bearers election for student representatives. This was conducted on 25th March 2022 at Gyan Bhawan Auditorium at 11:30 a.m. All the class representatives of first, second and third years assembled at the Gyan Bhawan Auditorium and Dr.E.Kothandaraman, Senior Coordinator, addressed all the students about the their class, their roles, responsibilities and how they have to contribute for the welfare of every student. He also requested the students to select candidates for whom their support can be registered.

All the SWC Vice-Presidents were present and specified the functioning and activities of SWC. He also informed the students about how each of them to represent the smooth functioning of the election. The rules and regulations were read to the students in Tamil and English. Many student candidates actively came forward to participate in the election. Time limit was provided to each of them to speak about how they will be “An Effective Leader” and a good example for students. This was followed by voting process which was done separately for girls and boys of all the three years.

After the voting process was over, counting was done in the presence of all the candidates and the staff gathered there. Results were announced immediately after counting the votes and winners were selected based on the number of votes received by each candidate. Candidates contested for the posts of Chairman boys and girls from 3rd year, Secretary boys and girls from 2nd year, Assistant Secretary boys and girls from 1st year. The students who won in the election were congratulated and declared as Office Bearers, who will work along with the SWC staff members of the college in every program organized for the welfare of the students.

SARDAR 2022 – A Detailed Report

 

Sardar 2022,a cultural extravaganza was celebrated with much pomp and splendour atAgurchand Manmull Jain College, Meenambakkam this evening. The Management hadorganised this grand fest in fond memory of their former Secretary Shri. Sardarmull Chordia.

 

The intra-collegiate fest kickstarted around 10 am and there were 40 odd stalls by the youngand energetic student entrepreneurs. Jukebox was the favourite corner as the students groovedto various medleys from the DJ. With the huge crowd cheering, the students had great fundeducating and dancing to different songs. The Students thronged the appetizing food stalls and also the other stalls that had a variety ofgames as well as handicraft products and homemade soaps.

 

The main sponsors for the cultural fest were Medopharm and Doshicon while the co-sponsorwas Go Colours. Besides these sponsors, stalls were exhibited by A&A Electric Motor,IIKM MBA School, Chennai Business School, Kurukshetra Business IAS Coaching centres.The cultural events started at 3 p.m. with celebrities from various fields adorning the events asjudges. The Management felicitated all the judges of the events.

 

The first event was singing competition judged by celebrity singers Mr. Vimal Raj Chordiaand Ms. Anuradha Venkat. The students participants competed with each other making it really tougher for the judges. It was a spectacular and a fun-filled evening for those who were a part of this gala fest Sardar 2022. The campus came alive with the livewire performances of the talented students.

 

The judges later gave away the prizes for the winning teams of themusic competition.

1st prize- Madness Team-Rs. 10,000 cash prize

2nd prize- Crew 5 Rhythmic Stars- Rs.5000 cash prize

3rd place- Hip Hop Devils - Rs.2000 cash Prize

 

Cine actor, Kathir of Vikram Vedha fame, made his glittering presence in the event.The next event was variety entertainment by the students. Leadership coach Krithika Ajayand Actor Sanjay Asrani judged the competition. The variety programme was stunning Actor Sanjay Asrani andone of the teams was instantly adjudged the best of all by the judges.

2nd prize- Fit Tok- Rs. 5000 cash prize

3rd place - Mastero Mimers- Rs. 2000 cash Prize

 

Next, the most awaited event of the day, the dance competition, rocked the cultural.Choreographer Ms.Mansi Bhatt, Reality dance show, Mr.Tamilarasan, Assistant Director ofReality dance show, Dance Jodi Dance and Mr.Rahul judged the dance competition.Merriment and fun was at its peak as participants rocked the show with their stellarperformances.

 

Mr. Rahul made a surprise announcement that six dance performers were selected for thesecond round of audition for Zee Tamizh’s Dance Jodi Dance programme.

The results of the dance competition were announced amidst huge crowd cheering.

SARDAR 2022 – REPORT ON TAMIL சர்தார் 2022 கண்கவர் கலைவிழா ஆடம்பரமாகவும் பிரம்மாண்டமாகவும் இன்று மாலை அகர்சந்த் மான்மல் ஜெயின் கல்லூரி வளாகத்திலே நடந்தேறியது.

    மேனாள் செயலர் ஸ்ரீ சர்தார்மல்ஜி சோர்டியா அவர்களை நினைவு கூறும் வகையிலே நிர்வாகத்தினரால் இம்மாபெரும் கலை நிகழ்வுக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.

    கலைவிழா காலை 10:00 மணிக்கே கலை கட்டத் தொடங்கியது. இளந்தொழில் முனைவோராகிய மாணவர்கள் தங்கள் தொழில் திறமையை நிரூபிக்கும் வகையில் 40 அங்காடிகளை கல்லூரி வளாகத்திலே நிறுவியிருந்தனர்.மாணவர்களின்  தொழில் திறமை இன்றைய நாள் விழாவின் சிறப்பம்சமாகவும் எல்லோரின் கவனத்தையும் ஈர்ப்பதாகவும்  அமைந்திருந்தது.

    பதிவு செய்த பாடல்களை மாணவர்கள் தங்கள்  விருப்பத்திற்கேற்ப ஒலிபரப்பச் செய்து ஆடியும் பாடியும் மகிழ்ந்த காட்சி இந்நிகழ்விற்கு மேலும் சிறப்பினை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

    கலைநிகழ்வுகளுக்கான செலவுத்தொகையில் பங்குதாரராக தங்களை இணைத்துக் கொண்ட,

ஆகியோர் தங்களின் அங்காடிகளைக் காட்சிப்படுத்தியிருந்தனர்.

    மாணவர்களும், கைவினைப் பொருட்கள், இளம் தலைமுறைக்கான வண்ண ஆடைகள், அலங்காரப் பொருட்கள், உணவுப் பொருட்கள்,குளிர்பானங்கள், பழச்சாறுகள், விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகள் எனப் பலவகையான அங்காடிகளில் தங்கள் வணிக மேலாண்மையை நிலைநாட்டினர்.

    சர்தார் 2022 கலைநிகழ்வு மிகச் சரியாக பிற்பகல் 3:00 மணியளவில் தொடங்க, சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக விக்ரம் வேதா படப்புகழ்கதிர்மாணவர்களின் பலத்த ஆரவாரத்துக்கிடையே அரங்கில் உதயமானார்.

பல்வேறு துறைகளிலிருந்தும்  வந்த பிரபலங்கள் நிகழ்வின் நடுவர்களாக வீற்றிருக்க, ஜெயின் கல்லூரி மாணவர்களுக்கான இந்தக் கலைவிழா ஒரு முத்திரை பதித்த விழாவாக நிகழ்ந்தேறியது.

    மாணவர்கள் பல தரப்பட்ட கலைநிகழ்வுகளிலும் தங்கள் திறமையைப் பறைசாற்றியதால்  அரங்கமே மகிழ்ச்சியின் உச்சத்தில் திளைத்தது.

        இம்மாபெரும் கலைவிழாவில் பங்கேற்றிருந்த பார்வையாளர்களின் மிகப் பெரும்ஆரவாரங்களுக்கிடையே மாணவர்கள் ஆர்வத்துடன்  கலைநிகழ்வுப் போட்டிகளில் கலந்து கொண்டு தங்கள் திறமைகளை அரங்கேற்றினர்.

    நடுவர்கள் வெற்றியாளர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுப்பதில் திண்டாடுகின்ற வகையிலே மாணவர்கள் போட்டி போட்டுக் கொண்டு தங்கள் திறமைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தினர்.

     மாலையில் நிகழ்ந்தேறிய இக்கண்கவர் கலை நிகழ்வு , மாணவர்களை மகிழ்ச்சியில் திளைக்க வைத்த நிகழ்வாக அமைந்தது.

    பார்வையாளர்களை ஊக்கப்படுத்தும் முகமாக அரங்கத்தைத் தன் பக்கம் ஈர்த்தனர் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்கள். மாணவர்களின் இனிய இசையைச்  செவிமடுத்து மிகச் சிறந்த இசைவாணர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் பொருட்டுப்  பாடகி அனுராதா வெங்கட் அவர்களும் பாடகர் விமல்ராஜ் சோர்டியா அவர்களும் வருகை தந்திருந்தனர்.

    இனிய இசையால் பார்வையாளர்களைத் தன்வசப்படுத்திய மாணவக் குழுக்களில் Madness Team 10,000 மதிப்புள்ள முதல் பரிசையும், Crew 5 Rythmic stars 5000 மதிப்புள்ள பரிசையும், Hiphop Deerz 2000 மதிப்புள்ள மூன்றாம் பரிசையும் வெல்ல, பாடகி அனுராதா வெங்கட் அவர்களும் பாடகர் விமல்ராஜ் சோர்டியா அவர்களும் அவர்களுக்குப்  பரிசுகளை வழங்கிப் பாராட்டினர்.

    பல்வேறு கலைநிகழ்வுகளைத் தங்களின் நுண்ணோக்குப் பார்வையால் மதிப்பீடு செய்ய, தலைமைப் பண்புப்  பயிற்றுநர் கிருத்திகா அஜய் அவர்களும் நடிகர் சஞ்சய் அஸ்ரானி அவர்களும் நடுவர்களாகத் தங்கள் தடம் பதித்தனர்.
